Northgate Country Club Members Throw Gala for von Hagge

Friends pulled out all the stops recently by throwing a spectacular gala to celebrate Robert von Hagge's birthday and to honor him for receiving a first-ever #1 rating in all of Europe for his design of Les Bordes, France. The French-inspired evening took place at Northgate Country Club's Cafe Northgate, just north of Houston, Texas. Robert and his wife Greta were feted royally at the black tie gala. Jobim and Frank Sinatra music played in the background (von Hagge's favorites) while hors d'oeuvres, fine wines and an elegant 4-course dinner culminating with almond champagne and Chocolate Paradise were served.

The evening was highlighted by "This is Your Life," a slide show created about Robert filled with photos from his youth and attending international golf course openings over the years.

"What an incredible night," said von Hagge. "I was so honored and humbled to be recognized for my life-time achievements. I still cannot believe it." Friends who came together to plan and attend the event includedMary and Don Morgan, Kay and Jim Stapleton , Jane and Ron Randall, Leslie and Mike Smelek, Wanda and Dr. Fred Pauling, Lyn and Dan McIntyre, Connie Foster, Sue and Bob Bramlette, Angela McCorkle and Joe Cone, and Jack and Gloria Thoner.
